Step 9
Monitoring Your Usage: The API Usage Page
To give you a clear and transparent view of how the add-on is interacting with Jira on your behalf. This page acts as a "health check" for your sync activity.
A. What this Page Tells You:
This page shows a count of the different types of requests the add-on makes to Jira for your user account only. These requests are triggered when you do any action or sometimes automatically (example - when the configuration is loaded) Here’s what they mean:
Search: Fetching the main list of your issues. This is the primary call during a sync.
Project / Fields / Statuses: These are configuration calls to get the lists of your available projects, fields, and statuses for the dropdown menus.
Changelog: Fetching the detailed history for an issue. You will only see this count increase if you are using the "Track Changelog" feature.
B. What this Page is NOT:
This counter is not your organization's total Jira API usage. It is a personal monitoring tool to help you understand how your syncs are performing. It is not related to Atlassian's overall API rate limits for your company.
C. How to Use It:
Navigate to the "API Usage" page from the sidebar menu (☰).
Review the counts to see which operations are being used most frequently.
Click "Reset Usage Stats" at any time to clear the counter and start fresh.
Pro-Tip: Optimize Your Syncs
If your syncs are feeling slow, check this page. A high changelog count is a common reason, as fetching detailed history for thousands of issues takes time. This might prompt you to be more selective about which fields you track history for, helping you speed up your reports.
